Questions About Our Debt Solver Plan

What are the advantages of a Debt Solver Program (DSP)?
Many creditors will give you concessions, i.e. lower your interest rate, stop late fees and collection calls. You will make one convenient payment to SurePath and we will pay your creditors.

Can I drop the program at any time?
You may discontinue your relationship with SurePath, in writing, at any time without cost. SurePath will normally discontinue the program after two missed deposits unless there have been extenuating circumstances approved by SurePath.

Do you charge for your services?
The counseling session is free. Should you elect to go on the Debt SOlver Program, there is a one-time set-up fee of $50 and a monthly service fee of 8% of your deposit or $35, whichever is less.

How do I add a creditor to my account?
To add a creditor to your account, please fax or mail your creditor statement to add to 805-383-7722. Once your statement has been received we will calculate the proposed payment amount.  You will receive a phone call followed-up by a letter to inform you of your new proposed payment.  Once we receive the new proposed payment, creditors will be contacted and proposals sent.

How does auto pay work?
Auto Pay offers the convenience of an automatic withdrawal of your Debt Solver Program payment from your bank account on a pre-scheduled date each month.  Another benefit is that Auto Pay helps you keep your payments on time, which can help you avoid late fees or a loss of creditor concessions.

How much does the auto pay plan cost?
It's FREE! You will only incur a fee if you have insufficient funds in your account. Fees are $25.00 for the first occurrence and $35.00 for the second occurrence.

How do I sign up for auto pay?
We will email you an Auto Pay application. Simply return the application with a copy of a voided check by fax.  You can fax the form and check to 805-383-7722 or mail to 80 N. Wood Rd. #308, Camarillo, Ca 93010.

How do I stop payment?
Call us immediately! We require 72 hours notice prior to the withdrawal date to stop any payments.

What if I need to change my account information for automatic withdrawal?
Simply fax us a signed authorization of the new account information to 805-383-7722

Can I change my due date for automatic withdrawal?
Simply fax us a signed authorization of the date you would like to change to 805-383-7728.

What is your address for payment?
80 North Wood Road Camarillo Ca 93010 or PO Box 6081 Camarillo Ca 93011

What should I do if there are insufficient funds in my bank account?
Call us immediately! We require 72 hours notice prior to the withdrawal date to make any changes or suspend a withdrawal.

How will being on the program affect my credit?
If you decide to check your credit report while you are on our plan, there is a strong possibility that you will notice documentation in reference to your participation in a DSP. All indications citing your involvement in our negotiated repayment plan will be removed once you complete or discontinue our program.

Remember, we are here to help you rebuild. If you cannot find the means to pay your creditors on your own, developing your credit in the future will be much more difficult. Creditors will see that you did not satisfy your obligations to restore your indebtedness or choose to take appropriate action to negotiate reasonable payments. Non-payment will most likely have a greater impact on your credit than a negotiated settlement of your debt.

Can I still use credit while I'm on your program?
Certain extenuating circumstances can compel a creditor to extend credit to you for a specific use while you are on our DSP. There are cases, however, that would not permit you to have any open lines of credit.

Do I have to put all my bills on the DSP?
For the most effective and equitable treatment of your debts, we need to include all debts in your DSP. Exceptions can be made only on an individual basis.  We are unable to negotiate settlement plans for secured credit or student loans.

SurePath Financial Solutions, a nonprofit organization, provides caring, innovative solutions that educate and empower consumers to successfully handle immediate financial challenges and plan for their future.

Please note that in May 2009, we changed our name from Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) to Surepath Financial Solutions. Same agency, different name.
